The big Four O !!

I can now show you what I made for my Daughter's 40th Birthday, and yes, red is her favourite colour!

 I didn't realise I had cut off the top of the card (my photography skills are pretty minimal).  The papers are metallic and the flash has made them look yellow when they are actually very white.

The following begins as a book,

Here is photo of the banner on the wall at the venue.

Then the guests all sign the pages to commemorate the event.  Of course, in the midst of the festivities you have to remember to take the banner down to get it signed before everyone goes home !!!!  lol

Thought I'd show you the magnificent cake ... and it tasted as good as it looks.

A nice cuppa tea

I think I have mentioned before that I love Kelly Lunceford's cards.  Well I really love what she does with the Papertrey "Time for Tea" stamp set (see this one).  I would love this set but it is not available in Australia.  It is $24 on line but the shipping is $27 !!! how ridiculous is that ? So the best I could come up with was this:

I found a couple of chipboard teapots (wonder what on earth I bought those for??), and although it was really too big I think it turned out OK and I was sooo pleased that I hadn't thrown out the Royal Albert ribbon that came on a gift pack.

One of my Daughter's friends required something a bit more exciting than a teapot so I opted for an evening handbag.  I saw one on a blog ages ago but couldn't find it when I went back to have another look.

and while I was in the fashion mode I made this:

It is a fun set from Hero Arts - there are three other shoes in the set but I always seem to ink this one up. 

I love the Top Note shape from Stampin' Up, and have been hand cutting it for a while now.  I have been told that I can use the SU die with my Cuttlebug but wanted to find out for sure before I buy it. 

I have a couple more things to show but will keep them for next time.

Just Bowling in

I think fiddling with the punches is good fun.  There are a few people out in blogland who do some very clever work with their punches.  If you don't believe me then you must have a look at this from Jackie Topa.

However, my favourite punch art lady is Ellen Kemper whose work always makes me smile.  She did this gorgeous lady bowler and I immediately knew that this was one I would need to case.  My friend is a Lawn Bowler so I had to make the bowler more sedate and as you will see Ellen has nothing to fear from my attempt at copying.  It was fun to do although I need a lot more practice on the face. (OK, and a lot of the other bits too - but I don't have all the necessary punches - that's my excuse)
